59th Anniversary of Disaster

Today, 7th September, marks the 59th anniversary of the tragedy at Knockshinnoch.

Another original plan drawing has been added to the site.

NEW IMAGES ADDED

Mr Alex Stewart has kindly provided copies of an original 1950 aerial photographic print and an original section drawing of No. 5 Heading, used in evidence during the 1950 court case.

New Web Page added, 'Recovery'

A new page has been added to www.knockshinnoch.co.uk

The new page, 'Recovery', provides details of the operation to clear the pit and recover the remains of the 13 men who perished in the disaster.

It contains extracts from contemporary newspaper reports with breaking news that, after four months of searching, the bodies of 3 men had at last been found.
